Persecution in societies is not always physical. It can be observed as the exercise of power in countless different ways, such as a lack of compassion and communication, unmet needs, indifference to emotional suffering, meaningless punishment, the exploitation of love, emotional blackmail, the destruction of one’s sense of self, and politics played over differences.
The forces exerted cause men and women to be oppressed, sometimes in different directions and sometimes in the same direction. The period of time in which men and women, who have often equally received their share of societal pressure, find themselves in balance is static. This serves no purpose other than leaving them vulnerable to pressure and increasing its intensity. Therefore, without denying what they feel, they must become whole and fight this struggle together.

Aslı Dündar Özcan developed an early connection with forms and materials, which evolved in parallel with her long-standing career as a dentist. Her medical background, particularly her experience with anatomy, tissue, and precise manual craftsmanship, eventually became the foundation of her sculptural work.
Çocukluğundan itibaren formlar ve malzemelerle kurduğu bağ, uzun yıllar sürdürdüğü diş hekimliği kariyeriyle eşzamanlı olarak gelişti. Hekimlik pratiğinin getirdiği anatomi, doku ve el işçiliği tecrübesi, zamanla heykellerinin temelini oluşturdu.
She shapes her work primarily using contrasting materials such as aerated concrete, paper, wire, wood, metal and concrete. Her practice largely focuses on human boundaries, the spaces where form is confined, and the organic relationship between the body and its environment.
Çalışmalarını ağırlıklı olarak gazbeton, kağıt, tel, ahşap, metal, beton gibi kontrast yaratan malzemelerle şekillendirmektedir. Üretimlerinde çoğunlukla insanın sınırları, formun hapsolduğu alanlar ve bedenin çevreyle kurduğu organik ilişki üzerine odaklanır.
